About Yizhou Zhu
I am an incoming M.S.E. student in Systems Engineering at the University of Pennsylvania. I recently graduated from New York University with a B.A. in Data Science and Mathematics.
My interests lie at the intersection of embodied AI, robot manipulation, and planning. I am interested in how an intelligent agent can connect high-level reasoning with perception, structured decision-making, and reliable physical action in changing environments.
As a Research Intern with the R&L Research Group at Nanjing University, I have been working on embodied agent loops for robotic systems, including robotic-arm manipulation and dexterous-hand algorithms. My recent work explores how plans can remain grounded in feedback from the environment and be revised when execution does not proceed as expected.
My earlier background in mathematics, data science, and finance shaped how I approach modeling and evidence. I am now building on that foundation through robotics and intelligent systems, with the goal of developing agents that can reason, perceive, and act more robustly.
